TRASEA WOMACK (Trasea's Glassworks) joined High Tide Gallery in July 2010. With thirty years of experience in working with glass, her artform is called lampwork because the glass is heated and sculpted in a torch flame. Each piece is hand formed from a solid rod of glass which is heated in the flame until molten then shaped into the desired form. Trasea often makes her own colored rods from glass powders and frits - lending her a broad palette and exquisite use of color.
Trasea has spent most of her life by the sea - her love of the ocean shows in her art. She went inland to study Fine Art at the University of Arkansas (specifically painting) and went on to learn the art of flameworking in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Trasea's art and jewelry is available in several fine galleries throughout the country as well as at fine art shows in the Southeast. She may be contacted through hightidegallery@gmail.com
