St. Augustine
Photography

Brad Gleaton captures St. Augustine from above, transforming familiar coastlines, landmarks, and landscapes into fresh aerial perspectives filled with wonder.
For Brad Gleaton, the sky is more than a viewpoint—it is a creative doorway into seeing familiar places in unforgettable new ways. Originally from Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Brad has always felt a deep connection to the coast. After college, he was drawn back toward the water and found his home in St. Augustine, Florida, where he has lived for the past 20 years. The city’s rich history, small-town charm, and natural beauty became the perfect backdrop for his creative journey. Brad’s path into art began unexpectedly about seven years ago, when a toy drone flew over his head at FAO Schwarz in New York City. Fascinated by the idea of flight, he looked at his wife and knew immediately that he had to try it for himself. What began as curiosity quickly became a passion. Through aerial photography, Brad discovered a creative side of himself and a new way to capture the places he loved. Working primarily with canvas, along with select prints and metal pieces, Brad’s artwork showcases St. Augustine and other meaningful destinations from striking and often unexpected perspectives. His goal is to reveal views that feel fresh, elevated, and full of wonder. Whether capturing the coastline, historic landmarks, or quiet moments of natural beauty, he approaches each image by asking how he can show the scene in a way people may have never seen before. Lighting, timing, and perspective are central to Brad’s work. He is inspired by the beauty of the place he calls home and by the freedom of seeing the world from above. Through his art, Brad invites viewers to experience familiar landscapes with a renewed sense of curiosity, appreciation, and awe.
