Cindy Wooten

Cindy Wooten is an artist who is allured by the ocean. Just like many beachgoers, you can find her on any given day scouring the sand for shells. However, Cindy does so with a specific mission. “I collect beach treasures,” she says. “I incorporate items like shells, driftwood, sea glass, rocks, pottery, and fossils into my art.” With the addition of macrame and paint, Cindy creates pieces that capture the beauty of Florida’s beaches and her love for and connection to nature. Born in California and raised in Ohio, Cindy vacationed in the St. Augustine area for twenty five years before moving here in 2021. “My husband and I fell in love with the beautiful weather and beaches here,” she says. “Art has always been a personal passion for me and it combines perfectly with the myriad of materials the Florida coastline provides for my work.” With nearly three decades of creative experience, Cindy’s art has evolved over the years. “I began creating my shell art as gifts for friends and family,” she further explains. “The beach and ocean are my inspiration. I am passionate about the diverse wildlife we are blessed with.” Driven by her strong faith in God, Cindy creates each piece from a place of peace and tranquility. “My goal, through my art, is to inspire my customers with the beauty of the ocean and the natural world that God has created for us to enjoy,” she says. A member of High Tide Gallery since 2023, Cindy fondly concludes, “I am blessed for the opportunity to share my love of the ocean with others.”
