Paintings

Brenda Roberson’s art is a heartfelt celebration of nature’s tranquility, blending decades of creative growth with the serene inspiration of coastal life.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Brenda Roberson has found a fresh creative chapter along the peaceful shores of St. Augustine. After relocating to Florida for retirement, sunshine, and close friendships, she’s embraced a lifestyle centered on natural beauty and artistic renewal. Now painting full time, she fully lives by the motto: “better late than never.”
Brenda’s creative journey spans more than five decades. She began studying figure drawing as a teen under regional artist Anton Weiss, later diving into oil and acrylic painting during the 1980s in Atlanta. More recently, she rediscovered her love of watercolor while attending classes at Riverhouse in St. Augustine, a medium that now plays a central role in her evolving practice.
Her first art class at age 16—in pastels—sparked a lifelong love of artistic expression, launching a journey through charcoal, colored pencil, acrylic, and watercolor. Whether capturing soulful birds, the gentle lapping of ocean waves, or the quiet strength of trees, Brenda’s work is rooted in a deep appreciation for joy, beauty, and the emotional connection we share with the natural world.
A notable early achievement came in 1969 when she was accepted into the Seven States Southern Exhibition at the Parthenon in Nashville with a pastel still life. Beyond her own creative path, Brenda also takes pride in inspiring her niece to pursue a career in the arts—now a commercial artist and high school art teacher.
Brenda is excited to be part of the High Tide Gallery family and looks forward to sharing her passion and peaceful vision through each new piece.
