Judy Snyder

Elkton, FL

Paintings, Acrylic, Mixed Media

For Judy Snyder, art is both a spiritual calling and a creative release—each brushstroke guided by faith, joy, and a love for life’s natural beauty.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Judy Snyder began her creative journey in the 1970s, shortly after meeting her husband, Dave, in California. A Vietnam veteran, Dave shared Judy’s deep faith and love of beauty, and together they followed a path that included marriage, missionary work, and artistic growth. Their time in China as missionaries provided not only a profound life experience but also the space and encouragement for Judy to begin painting more seriously.
Though she took a handful of formal art lessons along the way—including learning from popular painting programs like Bob Ross—Judy considers herself largely self-taught. Her true development came through years of experimentation, practice, and what she describes as divine guidance. Painting, for Judy, is more than a hobby—it’s an act of worship, a form of gratitude, and a way to share hope and light with others.
Her expressive style blends oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, often incorporating impasto techniques that lend her pieces a tactile, emotional presence. Judy draws inspiration from dreams, natural surroundings, and her Christian faith—frequently returning to beach scenes, florals, and vibrant abstracts that reflect the beauty and movement of life on Florida’s coast.
Now based in St. Augustine, Judy creates art full-time and exhibits regularly at High Tide Gallery, where her uplifting works resonate with viewers seeking connection, meaning, and joy. Each piece is infused with color, texture, and heart—rooted in a deep belief that creativity is a gift meant to be shared.
