Originally from Rochester, New York, Deborah has called Florida home for the past 14 years, drawn by its beautiful views and vibrant weather. After graduating from cosmetology school, she embraced her creative spirit not only through hair artistry but also through painting—a passion she has nurtured since childhood.
Deborah’s journey as a painter deepened profoundly in 2022 when she founded Paintings for Shirley, a heartfelt tribute to her late mother. This collection was born out of love and loss, aiming to offer hope and joy during difficult times. Each brushstroke is a cathartic release, a way for Deborah to express her emotions and share her story.
Her art is a colorful mix of acrylics, watercolors, sharpies, and ballpoint pens, blending bright neon tones with layered textures that give each piece depth and personality. As a quirky abstract artist, Deborah paints by feeling and intuition, creating unique works that often feature hidden uplifting messages. Her goal is to bring comfort and sunshine to every viewer, just as her mother did in life.
Inspired deeply by her mother Shirley’s legacy, Deborah’s work also draws from the natural beauty of Florida—from blooming flowers in Shirley’s memory garden to breathtaking sunsets and lively carnivals. Each painting invites viewers to find encouragement and joy in its vibrant story.
