Pottery

Holly’s pottery reflects the calm focus of the wheel and the joy of sharing craft, offering pieces that are as grounded in tradition as they are full of life.
Holly Culpepper is a skilled ceramic artist based in St. Augustine, Florida, known for her elegant, wheel-thrown pottery and her warm, approachable teaching style. Her passion for ceramics began at age 17 while studying at the Virginia Beach Art Center, where she first discovered the quiet rhythm and creative potential of working with clay. That early spark developed into a lasting career shaped by both formal study and hands-on experience.
She went on to refine her skills through various professional opportunities, including work as a production potter at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and academic training in ceramics at the College of the Florida Keys. These experiences helped her develop a strong foundation in craftsmanship while encouraging her own artistic voice. Her work blends form and function, with an emphasis on clean lines, natural tones, and timeless design.
Today, Holly runs her own ceramics studio in St. Augustine, where she produces and sells her work through local galleries and artisan markets. In addition to creating pottery, she is deeply committed to teaching. Her wheel-throwing classes offer students a chance to explore the medium in a supportive, hands-on environment that encourages creative growth.
Since joining High Tide Gallery in 2024, Holly has continued to grow both as an artist and an educator. Her work is a reflection of patience, practice, and passion—each piece made with care and a clear love for the process.
