Lorae Gamsey

Lorae Gamsey lives in a world immersed in creativity. “I grew up in a family of artists,” she says. Embarking on her creative journey at the age of six, Lorae is a gifted painter, well versed in a multitude of mediums. “I typically like to paint beach scenes using acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, charcoal, and oil paints on a variety of surfaces like shells and canvas,” she explains. With the addition of learning photography eight years ago, Lorae credits her father with much of her artistic adeptness. “He is a talented painter and sculptor,” she says. “As a child, I learned my father’s skill with painting. In photography, I am self taught. It became my latest passion when I began displaying my work online and on social media.” A native St. Augustinian, Lorae draws inspiration from the natural beauty of her hometown. “There are so many places I can go to get an early morning picture, “she says. “Whether downtown or at the beach, every photo I take symbolizes how I feel in that moment.” Deeply motivated by illuminating effects, Lorae continues, “I always aim for the perfect lighting. I am inspired by light from above and my surroundings living in this beautiful city.” Currently residing in town with her twin sons and fiance, Lorae has been featured on the digital platform, First Coast Life Magazine and notable sites like Totally St. Augustine. With an intense creative passion, Lorae surmises, “I am always creating. I continually strive for success in the world of art.”
