Nancy Engleman

St. Augustine, FL

Glass

Meet Nancy Engleman, a jewelry artist whose creative path brings personal experience, thoughtful craft, and a distinctive point of view to each piece.

Nancy Engleman is always learning and growing as an artist. “I don’t have a storied background,” she says. “I taught art to elementary school students for twenty years and now I’m having fun with my own creativity.” Originally from Pennsylvania, Nancy has lived in St. Augustine for two years and joined the High Tide Gallery family in 2025. A multi-faceted artist, Nancy paints with oils and creates fused art glass. Her subject matter is stimulated mainly by the natural beauty that Northeast Florida has to offer. Nancy’s passion for art is inspired by the masters like Monet and Van Gogh, but also modern artists aspiring for greatness. “I am enamored with the glassblowing competition show ‘Blown Away’,” she says. “The level of glasswork the contestants turn out is extraordinary. I aspire to be at their level.” Also inspired by other local glassblowers, Nancy enjoys seeing their unique perspectives on the modality. While she can elaborate on no specific style to her own art, Nancy’s passion fuels her desire to create pieces that are authentic to who she is. “My goal is to hone my skills with each piece I create,” she says. “It is a wonderful feeling when a piece is completed and turns out the way I envisioned it.” You can find Nancy’s work in the form of magnets, ornaments, necklaces, and whimsical pieces at High Tide Gallery. “I’ve met so many wonderful artists and enthusiasts here,” she says. “Glass will always be a part of my life.”
