From forest paths to cloud-filled skies, Trish’s lens captures the kinds of quiet beauty that are easy to miss—but impossible to forget.
Originally from California, Trish Smith spent over 30 years in Idaho before settling in Central Florida. After she and her husband spent time traveling the country in their 5th wheel, they chose to put down roots in Lady Lake, where the slower pace of life and natural surroundings became a perfect backdrop for her creative journey.
Photography has always been a personal passion, but it wasn’t until retirement that Trish found the time and space to fully explore her craft. Though she’s humble about her talents and hesitant to claim the title of “artist,” her photographs tell a different story—one of practiced observation, patient composition, and a deep reverence for the beauty of the natural world.
Coming from a highly creative family, Trish found her voice through the lens. She focuses on capturing the magic in simple, quiet scenes: winding forest trails, dramatic skies, peaceful coastal vistas, and wildlife caught mid-moment. The digital age gave her the tools to experiment, edit, and refine her work, allowing her to sift through thousands of images and share only those that stir something deep within her.
Trish’s photography is rooted in instinct and emotion rather than formal technique. She often waits for just the right light, knowing that nature’s perfect moment can’t be rushed. “Retirement meant being able to wait for the light to be right,” she says—a phrase that encapsulates both her process and her purpose.
Today, her work invites viewers to pause and appreciate the kind of beauty that’s often overlooked—a moment of calm, a slant of sunlight, a glimpse of something timeless through the trees.
