Patty Magee

Patty Magee’s way of life is deeply grounded in her faith and family. She skillfully integrates a strong emphasis on connecting art and wellness into this foundation. In fact, she believes the two go hand in hand. As a painter and an author, Patty advocates for the therapeutic benefits of creativity. “Through my own art, I have experienced the ability of creative expression to alleviate stress and help adults move beyond the limitations imposed by illness,” she says. As a writer, Patty has published work in ‘American Holistic Journal’ and been quoted in ‘Arbus Magazine’. Her visual art has covered four editions of ‘Beginnings’, a professional nursing magazine. “The most recent publication of my artwork was featured in a regional publication called ‘The Observer’. It portrayed Hurricane Milton in 2024,” says Patty. Having received her MA in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida, Patty is an RN professionally. “My academic achievements support my mission to integrate creative practices into patient care,” she says. In her book ‘Making Art With Intention’, Patty explores the relationship between art and wellness and advocates for the role of art as an alternative approach to understanding and caring for patients. While Patty maintains a professional nursing license, her personal enjoyment comes from her painting. “I plan to create art throughout my life and inspire others to do the same,” she says. Enjoying High Tide Gallery’s inclusive spirit, Patty concludes, “I enjoy being part of an environment where diverse artistic expressions are celebrated. It has allowed me to connect with the local art community.”
